Test Footage - Desired Affect

This video here is the sort product I want to finish up with, I really like the filter that has been added on top of the video to give a tunnel affect, adding to the desired image of speed.

Individual sections of Digipak (I am this)

This is the front cover of the CD digipak, its an original image that I took and the font of the text is  from photoshop

This is the dick tray section of the digipak, I made it look see through by slicing into a separate layer and dropping the opacity of that layer.

This is the inside leaf that I used for my digipak.

This is the back cover that I used for for my digipak.

This is how the inside looks when its unfolded

This is a Net that I got off of http://www.duplication.ca/printspecs/digipack.htm

This is an initial ideas that i had, just laying stuff out with similar imagery to what i was going to use.

This is the digipak flat plan for my CD digipak - the sunset image is one that i took myself on my mobile phone.

This is the print add for my digipak, print adds are used to promote albums both before and after their release.

This is original image that i used for both the above products, it was taken on my 8MP Mobile phone.

Video Comparison - Happy days - Weezer Buddy Holly

This initial scene is taken from the original series, it has been copied into the video to add to the authenticity of the text. The effect they were going for was to look like they were starring in a happy days episode.

This scene reveals the band within the scene, the filming has been done on a old school camera and the band has been placed in using specialist software, to look like they are in the scene (This has not been done on the above photo, this is just filming that has been cut in)

This shot has been very cleverly done, the original "owner" of the series has been placed in the scene to again add to the authenticity.

The videos are very similar, but the whole concept of the weezer video was to emulate  that of the original Happy days series. By using specialist editing to place the weezer members onto several scenes from happy days. Other similarities include the clothing worn, weezer have been sure to dress in period correct clothing, also they have used an affect over the whole of the videos filming such as the below image

The camera used would have been correct for the time period, then added to the video.

Test Footage - Invisible Effect

This is the final result of the test footage that i Edited Using a displacement map to give the effect of Invisibility.

The Subject is the wrong way up because when the original footage was shot, the camera was rotated on the stand to a Portrait Position, meaning that I Had to rotate the footage in after Effects.

Only to find out that when I Do this, the footage renders the rotation incorrectly so the subject is the wrong way up.

When I Shoot my own footage, I wont rotate the camera to 90 degrees so hopefully the problem wont occur.

Effects tutorial for the invisibility affect I want to try

This is the video tutorial I Followed to get the effect that I want to use for my video

Music Video - Effects research

I love the way this music video uses stop motion as well as slow motion camera work, it gives the video a unique style that I really like the look of. It also uses stop motion lip sinking, which is essentailly taking the picures with the mouth in different positions.

This video is done using predetermined shots and a green morph suite, I love the way that the shoes look when they are skating round on their own as if by magic

This is the royalty free track that I am going to use.

Music Video Director Research - Hype Williams

HYPE WILLIAMS - MUSIC VIDEO DIRECTOR

Hype Williams has been directing music videos since 1991 and now is one of the most sort after directors in the business. He tends to delve into videos from the hip-hop genre as this is his speciality in which he has more than 20 years of experience. His unique eye casts a one of a kind style into every video. I personally prefer the more recent Williams productions, but only because of the more complex lighting affects and computerised elements within his work.

Like for example the Kanye West Video - Lights

(Pictured below)

Hype Williams structures this video to accentuate the different elements of the track. Which is about parents splitting up and kids getting caught in the middle, based on the story of Kanye west and his daughter.

The first scene involves a little girl walking alone, in a soft focus black and grey camera shot, pictured here in Close-up the young girl is the centre subject of the song, representing Kanye's daughter and their story.

This scene encourages the viewer to watch listen too and understand the words of Kanye West. Doing this also helps you also realise what he is saying, sometimes in hip-hop and rap songs the lyrics of the artist can become lost in translations.

Hype uses a flashing strobe to draw the eye to Kanye and sustain your interest in the rapper as he tells his story in this. The extreme close up shot also emphasises the emotions that kanye west is portraying.

Based on this video, you can see the many styles that hype Williams represents and brings together, most of all i like his camera work and use of computerised affects within his videos.

Other Hype Williams Productions I like include

Beyonce ft. Lady GaGa - Video Phone.

Which has really striking editing and uses some special effects

Jay-z and Alicia Keys - Empire State of mind

Really like the editing in this video, and how the majority of cuts occur on beat with the music.

Lupe Fiasco - Super Star

Really nice lighting and use of soft strobe lights reflects the slow feel of the song itself.

Induction Project Music Video

This is the induction video that I co-produced with Dan Shakes. We made a stop motion claymation video to the music by taking frame-by-frame photos to produce a video that looks like a motion picture as a posed to several individual photos. I learnt that this kind of effect can look very affective in a video but can also be very time consuming.

Music Videos I like with explanantion of why I like them

This is "Oh here it goes again" by "OK GO".
I like the simple static camera shot that runs throughout the whole video. But more so i like how despite there only being a single camera angle, the viewer is still grossly drawn to the video because of the unique choreography that is performed on six treadmills.

This is another video by OK GO this would be the sort of style that I would want like replicate in my music video. A stop motion that is really eye catching and good to watch with smooth motion and relevance to the story line of the song.

Another kind of video that i would like to replicate is someone either walking or running in the night or during the day depending on the music to the video.
